It`s authentically Lara - great locations, Assassins' Creed-style crawling and exploring environment, interesting side quests and a good plot. Which means that the game is as much about exploration as it is about collecting, crafting and solving various quests.

The story is engaging and interesting. Russian Siberian setting definitely gives an amazing atmosphere (which at times reminded me of the game Syberia) and the storyline of the great city of Kitezh is well though and perfectly executed.Graphics are amazing and the performance was great for me.All in all - 5 stars and I come surprised and delighted. If you are looking for a great PC adventure capable of taxing your r 390/gtx 970 (or higher) and skylake then this is a great buy.That being said, it is unconscionable that Microsoft- after professing their determination to build Windows Store in to a top quality game client- would intentionally attempt to deceive their customers by hiding the absurd game limitations on such a high quality game.The Steam version offers the graphics and video settings the game was designed to be released with. There is no possible way to justify purchasing a game that you can't resell, that is capable of really showing off high end PCs, and has been released by Microsoft as a crippled alternative to the real thing. I have a Gtx 1070 and my fans are going crazy like a jet is in my pc, so I put all settings on low and guess what my pc sounds like its going to fly off out the window lol.

I'm playing more powerful games on my pc and it never gets loud, so this is clearly something that has to do with this game. I'm going to tinker with my pc but I know its the pc version. Oh yeah before I forget you can't change the FPS or have a FPS display while your playing but everything seems to work fine on the steam version.

I made some observations, all my stutters occurred when the GPU usage went to 0% or close to that. I have laptop with 970M SLI.

During some cut scenes one card would show very low usage where as other would be at +90%. The stuttering occurred exactly as these times. Especially when it transitions from a gameplay to cut scene.

I had no problems when I was looking at a lot of landscape and still was getting 60-80 FPS on very high at 1080p but suddenly during cutscene transition or some silly low graphics location it just stutters to 4-5 FPS. Think SLI is not used well in cut scenes and that might be an issue. It almost feels like it needs to load something at some places even though I run an SSD and have 16 GB of RAM. I max it out on my Fury X, i5-3570 and 12GB RAM (it doesn't use more than 3GB for some reason).I do have some major spikes down to 12 for a split second, mostly during cutscene transitions and, sadly, QTE. So a few deaths because of it, but nothing I can't live with.I just got to a town (or something) and my FPS went down to 40, doesn't seem to be a way to increase it, so I guess I'm bound to my CPU there.PureHair has no impact for me, but I'd guess it's a similar story as the TressFX in TR13, Nvidia will fix their drivers shortly for it.
