Plenty of gaming PC's on amazon and eBay just make sure it hits the specs on the iracing website. Building one yourself is very easy.

I hadnt done it before but saw a spec for a nice PC, ordered the bits separately and looked at YouTube for tutorials - saved myself 30% ish.I run an i7, 2 x nvidia GTX980, loads of ram everything and it's pointless, it's doesn't need it!!The graphics card is important, you really need to spend £100 plus. CPU doesn't determine if you can run it or not.

But a slow CPU will stop your graphics card reaching its full potential. RAM can affect the loading times. It's critical your internet is up to the job too. Try not to use WIFI - use power line adapters if your hub isn't close. If your gunna be hard core, buy or build a good rig with seat (don't get a stand), less hardcore then look for a playseat challenge, they are good and it folds away.

I have an accuforce bolted to it and it's solid.I have had pretty much every wheel you can think of. Now running the full blown direct drive but can say if I had to choose any one of the entry level versions (and it's within your budget) get a Thrustmaster T500rs, or the new TX PC. Don't get a T300rs they can't cope with high FFB and die. Logitechs are like toys, and Fanatec are just too unreliable. It's all personal opinion at the end of the day. This is just mine.

I had a basic 911 Carrera which suddenly stopped calibrating and couldnt be fixed. I then had a series of GT3 RS wheel (the orange one). Shop kit. 3 of them suffered calibration issues, and on all 3 it was the code wheel sensor that caused the fault.

The shifters stopped working on one of them too.Slightly different but had pedal issues caused by potentiometers, and actually purchased a filter from basherboards to fix it.As you can see I didnt have much luck but I HAVE TO BE COMPLETELY FAIR TO FANATEC, they repaired them all, and pretty quickly. On the first occasion they even sent me a new wheel straight away before I returned the old one. I liked the wheels, Fanatec were good to deal with, but there is nothing more frustrating than not being able to race because you have no wheel.I gave the GT3 RS to my friend - that was nearly 3yrs ago and it gets some hammer. He has replaced the code wheel sensor once, and had a couple of burnt out powerpacks (so perhaps its cost him £30 in two years). My T500RS was a different beast (just the weight of it proves a point), and I know loads of guys who have them. I even had a T300RS - stay away from those!!! I finally managed to get a direct drive wheel, and I know that if it ever has a fault the T500 thats in my loft will work straight away.Everyone has their own experiences, maybe I was unlucky with Fanatec? I do know that code wheel failures are quite common tho.

My first one was like that. Just wanted it for iracing so all it needed was a cpu that could achieve 2.4 ghz and a graphics card (think mine was £50).The problem is that new components (RAM, CPU etc) don't fit old motherboards. So to keep it simple you build it like this.Decide what size case you want, 3 types, then the case determines the size of the motherboard.

Bigger case, bigger motherboard, more options. So say you buy a small case, you then get a micro motherboard and you either go AMD or Intel (AMD are cheaper). It will have a CPU socket, the socket determines which CPU you buy (or just buy them as a pair to be sure). Get a hard drive (Cheap £20 HDD, solid state drives are faster but expensive) you can add extra hard drives later.Get some RAM (again the motherboard decides what you get) new boards take DDR3.A graphics card (generally they fit any board). The motherboard will have a network port, you might want to buy a wifi card. You then need a DVD player, £10. Keyboard and mouse. So that's it. Your case will have fans, normally the have a power pack too - if not buy one (min 600w).Everything is labelled, it's dead easy to see what clicks where.

The only tools you need are a screwdriver and some cable ties to make it look nice. You need to buy a license of windows, switch the computer on,insert the windows PC and that's it. I reckon I could build a PC in less than 20 mins now, the first attempt took a longer as you'd expect. So if your gunna buy 2nd hand bits the only things you need to check are:What size is the case (micro, mid, tower).Size of the motherboard (micro, mid, standard ATX)CPU socket typeGet the CPU to match the socket - make sure it comes with a heat sinkRAM slot - DDR1, 2 or 3.All HDs will work.Make sure the power pack (PSU) is high enoughBuy the graphics card (GPU)So you could could probably build an IRACING from eBay bits with £150.

New bits but with limited potential to expand it from £280. A good spec, with good room for growth might be £450.00.
